Hey everybody! My name is Kristen, and I am 23 years old. I graduated in August 2007 from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and am now teaching second grade at First Baptist Christian Academy in Pasadena. A few years ago I never would have pictured myself teaching, but God led me down a path that brought me here, and I am so grateful to Him for that. I absolutely love teaching and couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else.
Well, let me tell you a little more about how I got to this point in my life. I grew up in church and have always been very involved in my Sunday School department and other church activities. One day, however, I realized that I knew about Jesus but had never truly trusted Him and made Him my Savior. After several years of worry, struggle, and embarrassment about what others would think of me, I laid down my pride and was saved at the age of 15. God truly changed my life and continues to mold and shape me every day into the person He wants me to become.
A couple years later, when I was 17, I began singing Southern Gospel music with my family, and just a few months after that I surrendered my life to full-time Christian service. Unless God leads me in a different direction, I plan to continue reaching people for Jesus Christ through song. I truly believe that it is a Christian’s responsibility to make sure that we take every opportunity to share the love of Christ with others. I intend on doing just that and am thankful that God has blessed me with the talent and the desire to use my voice for Him. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I can’t imagine a future without it. I feel certain that whatever path God leads me down, music will always remain a part of my service to Him.
