I grew up on Bluegrass and Country music. My Dad played the banjo, guitar and just about anything that had strings. He started teaching me to play the guitar at a young age, so music has definitely had a big influence on my life. When I was a teenager, my Dad and I would often travel around the area to participate in Bluegrass festivals, or we would just sit around the house and enjoy playing music together. He lost a long, tough battle with cancer, and the Lord took him home in January of 2000. It brought back some wonderful memories when a recording of him picking his banjo was found, and I was able to play along with it for a special song on our “All The Way to Calvary” CD.

It has been a joy to sing and minister with Sue and our daughters, Shanna and Kristen, since this ministry began. It’s exciting to look back and see where God has brought us from, and even more exciting to anticipate what He has in store for us down the road. Shanna has recently gone on to do the things she feels God would have her to do. I miss having her as a part of the ministry but I am very proud of her decision.

We have been blessed, not only by the new people we have met while traveling and singing, but also by our many friends that show us such wonderful support. It is such an encouragement each time we look out into an audience and see our friends there. We also have outstanding support from our Pastor Dr. Redmond, Associate Pastor Jon, and Music Minister Jimmy. They are all such big encouragers to us. We are thankful for the people God has sent to stand behind us in our ministry!

I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was a teenager. I had been fooling myself, thinking I was doing okay, until one day I came to the realization that I was lost and needed a Savior. Over the past few years, God has really begun to show me that it’s truly all about “Him” and what we can do for “His” kingdom that matters. My desire is to be available to do what the Lord has for me to do. I want to be faithful to seek the Lord and lead my family as we serve Him through this ministry. I don’t want to miss out on a single blessing!
